Copycat
Copycat is the next documentary on the free culture movement. It will explore the relationship between the technologies surrounding the Internet and the way culture is produced and consumed.
Using some of these technologies, I will document the development of the film, release bits and pieces of it as it as they are produced, and ultimately publish the final film online. Each addition will be released under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license and will carry incremental version numbers (0.1, 0.2, 0.3).
The CC license allows users to re-edit each release to correct for accuracy, tighten the presentation, or provide a contrasting point of view -- so long as they provide attribution and release their version under the same license terms. The final film will be a derivative of both my own work and audience-submitted re-edits and will carry the same freedoms.
